TWILA’s Jennifer Finley and TWILA’s Avery Davidson introduce us to two women making their mark on Louisiana Agriculture, in honor of National Women’s Month. Taylor Frey shows us farmers making a positive difference in their soil. Our friends at the Southern Food and Beverage Museum shows us how to care for a kitchen staple. TWILA’s Karl Wiggers try his hand at his first crawfish boil in Crawfish Boil 101, and we have crawfish prices around the state. We’re wrapping up the show celebrating National Agriculture Week with a special video from Vermilion Parish Farm Bureau.

This week, TWILA’s Neil Melancon shows us, Bayou Rum, just off of I-10 in Lacassine, is taking local, Louisiana sugarcane and sharing that sweet spirit with the whole world. Taylor Frey shows us, one Colorado oil and gas company found hope by using its equipment to clean dairy lagoons across the country, including Duncan Acres Dairy right here in Louisiana. TWILA’s Jennifer Finley takes us to Tony’s Seafood and to Chef Yvette’s kitchen, where she shows us a dish that celebrates Mardi Gras, and will fill you up through Lenten season. We show the latest crawfish prices, and wrap up by celebrating Women’s Month.

In this week’s show, TWILA’s Avery Davidson takes us to Palmetto, Louisiana, where one farmer is converting his land from one use to another, while also helping the environment. A 4-H agent from Ascension Parish shares her perspective, as her students prepare for the State Livestock Show. TWILA’s Karl Wiggers takes us back to the St. Helena Farmer’s Market, where we meet vendors who are selling homemade goods and produces. We learn about how to use all of Louisiana citrus, peel and all, in this week’s Ag Minute, and we have an oyster shell of a Field to Feast, just in time for Valentine’s Day! We wrap up the show with cow art in this week’s TWILA Boost.
