Members of the Louisiana Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee donated nearly $1,000 in cash and a basket of books focused on agriculture to the Children’s Museum of Acadiana. Included in the donation was the American Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture 2019 Book of the Year Right This Very Minute by Lisl H. Detlefsen. The book shows what farmers are doing at any given moment to grow and raise the food we eat.

This will be the first in-person workshop since the COVID-19 pandemic canceled workshops in 2020. These workshops provide essential training tools for local volunteer and full-time firefighters, as well as anyone who works in agriculture. According to Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation Safety Director Wendell Miley, it is important to have local first responders involved in agricultural safety.
