This week, the team chat through a few stories in this week's episode of TWILA like Neil's story of community gardens in the Lower Ninth Ward of New Orleans, the Louisiana Farm Bureau's YF&R visit with congressmen and senators, and a Louisiana-born bull who has become famous on social media thanks to his love for yoga balls. Also, the team shares about their favorite king cakes from around Baton Rouge and Breann tries to explain Tik-Tok to the older folks on the team.

This week, the TWILA team is replaced with the state officer team of Louisiana FFA. On this episode of the TWILA Aftershow, those officers join us to talk about their stories and what they learned as they produced them.

Welcome to the hangry episode of the TWILA Aftershow, and we’re kicking off the show talking about some delicious Louisiana shrimp and aquaculture. TWILA’s Neil Melancon talks about the aquaculture in Louisiana taken from back-to-back hurricanes, and where everything stands. We hear about TWILA’s Breann Hendrickson’s first time getting and eating Louisiana crawfish at Tony’s Seafood. While Breann was enjoying some crawfish, TWILA’s Karl Wiggers tells us about his time with the Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation Young Farmers and Ranchers at their Leadership Conference and tour of Bayou Rum. TWILA’s Kristen Oaks-White tells us about this week’s TWILA Boost featuring Arkansas Farm Bureau’s first installment of Filthy Farm Jobs.

In the first Aftershow of 2022, we’re welcoming the newest member of the TWILA Team, Breann Hendrickson! For her first assignment, TWILA’s Breann Hendrickson braved the cold at the 2022 LSU AgCenter Botanical Gardens at Burden’s Arbor Day celebrations. We’re rebooting Feasting on Agriculture with TWILA’s Kristen Oaks-White, and we talk about a new variety of rice and gumbo roux. We also talk about sweet potatoes, Louisiana rice, and a lot of events coming up across the state that are very important to those graduating high school soon and applying to scholarships!

This week, the TWILA team looks back on the past year of stories featured on TWILA. The team tells stories from their favorite shoots, they discuss Hurricane Ida and the winter storms in February. The guys also have an impromptu interview with Kristen about the art she creates outside of her 9 to 5 at Louisiana Farm Bureau. It's an interesting conversation and we hope you enjoy it.

This week, we're trying something different. This episode is simply the audio form of the television show we produce every week. We'll be back soon with our not-so-regularly-scheduled chats soon. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

This week, Neil, Avery, and Karl talk through some of the stories they've covered over the past few weeks on TWILA. Its been a busy fall with Hurricane Ida coverage, congressional visits, and a tour of the state's hurricane damage and export infrastructure with American Farm Bureau President, Zippy Duvall. Avery tells us about his visit, Neil talks about his story he shot on a Louisiana tea farm, and Karl updates us on his favorite crop, cotton, which is making a lot of farmers smile this fall.

In this week’s after show, we have a full house celebrating TWILA’s 40th birthday! The TWILA Team looks back on where it all began, and changes made along the way. We also talk about our origin stories and our favorite stories, from our Reporting for Duty series, to our numerous international trips and Kristen’s infamous Ag Minute about Moonshine.

We are back after a busy summer break! This week, the TWILA Team revisits Brandon and Danielle Vail after their farm was devastated by a series of natural disasters in 2020 and 2021. Neil Melancon talks about their difficult past year and the silver lining they found starting their family. TWILA’s Karl Wiggers talks about the importance of safety on the farm and on the roads near farms with harvest in full gear across the state. We dig into the TWILA Archive for this week’s TWILA Boost and we’re going back to 2017, when Karl visited Parish Brewing Company. We also quiz our intern, Cassidie, about all the tapes she's helped the team archive of TWILA shows dating back into the 80s.

The entire team is in the same room for the first time in a really long time to break down some of the stories in this week's episode of TWILA. We talk about everything from small poultry farms to big big row crop problems, from Kristen's love for American Idol to Avery's disdain for Louisiana roads. We also praise Neil for his level of commitment to his story last week, going so far as getting peed on by an alligator.
